Hello,
I am SO thrilled to be teaching your child this year. Some important dates that I'd like you to get marked on your calendar are:
AUGUST
19: Back to School Night 6:00pm.
20: First Day of School - early release
SEPTEMBER
1: No School - Labor Day
OCTOBER 13/14: Parent Teacher Conferences (I also do some of mine before/after school that entire week before to accommodate so many parents.)
15-17: No School
31: early release
We have quite a large class size, but it's not the first time I've taught 28 2nd graders so never fear.....your children are in good hands. With so many children it makes my job even harder to correct papers, prepare projects, assess fluency in math/reading, etc. I will really need some dedicated helpers in order to use my teaching time wisely. Many of you have expressed an interest in helping out in so many ways......thank you - it's important to know I have parents that are willing to invest in their child's education. Please fill out our Classroom Volunteer sheet at Back to School night.
SUPPLIES
Items that I am constantly using/buying/running out of: white cardstock, colored cardstock, construction paper of ALL sizes and colors, colored copy paper, pencils, craft paints, sponge paint brushes, scrapbook paper, etc. I also have thought about doing an Amazon wish list for our class.
